Kisii Deputy Governor, Joash Maangi has challenged area residents to observe the law while responding to tragedies, to avert destruction of private and public property.
Maangi observed that, most of developed countries and the Asian tigers achieved their economic progress through handling their challenges, especially tragedies through order and discipline.
He added that when you solve problems in a calm manner more tends to be done towards solution of the same.
Speaking at Gusii Stadium, during the marking of this year's Madaraka Day celebrations, Maangi warned members of the public against the culture of hooliganism as a way of solving their problems they have with either the County Government or security agencies.
He challenged area residents to respond to calamities and tragedies, especially accidents with a culture of civility, to maintain peace in the region.
"I am warning members of the public to refrain from hooliganism as a way to solve whatever problems they have with either the County Government or security agencies, it is a retrogressive way of solving issues. Instead they should come to the table to discuss the issues in an amicable manner," warned Maangi
