On Friday, a number of residents seemed  to blame the county government for failing to install streetlights along the highway, something that has contributed to a number of  them being attacked by anonymous criminals.

They said a number of them, especially those going for night shifts in several working places in town, have been targeted with a number of them nursing injuries in different hospitals.

“Something is wrong along the Industrial road. There is a gang that is robbing and harassing people in this region. The county government has taken long to install streetlights that can boost security here,” said Abigael Omboe.

“To be sincere, I have confessed that some of my two friends are nursing injuries in a hospital here in town. Most of those who are targeted are those going for night shifts or those who are returning late from work,” said Evans Okangi.

They threatened to organise peaceful demonstrations in a bid to compel the county government to install streetlights.

“We are going to organise peaceful demonstrations if the situation is not curbed. The county government ought to install streetlights in speed and the government should also deploy security forces,” said Erick Mosota.
