For Albert Nyabuto who has been suffering from legs complications, new dispensaries put up before the devolved governments took over are not of any help to him as they remain locked.
Speaking to Hivisasa from his home, Mr Nyabuto said that it's becoming hectic for him to travel weekly to seek medical services at the Kisii Teaching and referral hospital.
"On my way to hospital I leave behind six closed dispensaries. And I remain wondering why were they even put up in the first place," he said.
"You have legs complications and you are forced to walk for over 30 kilometres before you board a vehicle to hospital. The distance becomes more problem to my condition," he said.
He now feels different and wants the health docket to be taken back to the National Governemnt.
Mr Nyabuto is one amongst the many residents in Kisii county who are suffering in silent because of the long distances they are forced to cover in order to get to hospital.
In Kisii County there are more than 30 facilities that have never been opened.
However, Kisii County Executive for health Sarah Omache said that this year plans were underway to open all the facilities.
"We are working on the same and we shall ensure that we open most of the facilities this year," she said.
