Kisii county Governor James Ongwae has been urged to ensure that he revives stalled projects before his term lapses.
According to some residents, there are quite a number of projects that were initiated by the Governor during his first term, unfortunately, most of them have stalled despite the fact that funds were set aside for the same.
"We're in the dark as residents of Kisii county as there are projects that were started by Governor James Ongwae when he was first elected to the office such as the avocado factory, modern abattoir in Suneka area but all that have not been completed and we don't know why because funds were set aside for the same," said Erick Ombongi a resident
Another resident Isaac Rayori said the county has failed the locals by not implementing the much-anticipated avocado factory that has been not been operating since its construction was launched over three years ago.
"We would like the county to have a look at the avocado factory as were eagerly waiting for it," said Rayori.
Their sentiments come at a time when Ongwae has been criticised by a section of leaders including Dagorreti North MP Simba Arati.
Recently Arati said that he will review all the projects that have not been completed and make a follow-up.
"The County Government of Kisii have been taking residents for a ride but as the community spokesperson I will keep them on-check to ensure that the projects are implemented or they should account for the funds," said Arati.
However, Ongwae cited delay of National government to release funds as the main reason majority of the projects have not been completed and pleaded with locals to be patient.
