Kisii County women representative Janet Ongera has assured that Kisii residents will be sensitized on how affirmative funds will be used throughout her term.
According to Ongera, most residents lack information on the projects the Action Affirmative funds will be used at.
“Many of the residents in Kisii County don’t know how affirmative funds will be used. Public forums will be held across all the wards in the County to sensitize the locals on how they will use the funds on various projects,” she said.
She assured that no single cent will be misused or misappropriated as claimed by her political rivals.
“I hear my opponents claiming that I have diverted the funds to my personal projects. I wish to clarify the fake allegations and assure residents that Affirmative funds will benefit women, youths and people living with disability across the county. No region will be sidelined when allocating the funds to various women and youth groups,” she stated.
She challenged residents to form groups and apply for loans to start small businesses to boost their living standards.
