This comes after just four days after a Bodaboda operator and his customer lost their lives on the spot when a tractor collided head on with the Bodaboda at Daraja Mbili near Nakumatt Supermarket last week.

Speaking to this writer on Sunday in kisii town, Solomon Nchogu, Joseck Kerunda and Beatrice Omae noted that the number of accidents in road accident have increased through careless driving due to speeding by road users.

“To reduce accidents which occur frequently, the government must erect bumps on all roads in this county and Traffic Police should take action against those drivers who contravene Traffic Rules,” said Kerunda.

The customer who lost his life was a Lecturer in one of the Colleges in Kisii town and met his death through the fatal accident when heading to his home.

Traffic Police had not arrived at that scene, at that particular time but they arrived later after the driver had escaped with the tractor. The two casualties were taken to Kisii Referral Hospital Mortuary.

Kisii residents are appealing to their county government to ensure that bumps are fully erected in all the roads  in the county to curb accidents resulting from speeding.

It is alleged that the driver who caused the accidents was at a high speed which made him not to control the tractor and after hitting the Bodaboda, he went missing to evade police arrest.

“We demand to be told why the action has been taken by relevant authorities who should ensure that residents’ lives are taken care of,” said Kerunda.

Kisii OCPD Tom Mutisya, while speaking on the same, warned drivers and other road users not to contravene the current Traffic Rules by driving at a high speed and not to hit and run as a way of escaping charges adding that it is a great offence to cause an accident and run.
