Kisii County Government has hailed the National Government for ensuring that all public primary schools in the County, are supplied with electricity.

Speaking in Kisii yesterday, Governor James Ongwae and his Deputy Joash Maangi, promised to support the Rural Electrification Authority (REA), to ensure the programme that is flagging off today is successful.

"I hope the progaramme of supplying our public primary schools with electricity, will be successful before the end of April deadline," Ongwae said.

"We thank the National Government for the initiative of having our pulblic primary schools powered with electricity, that will help pupils undertake their studies effeciently," noted Maangi.

According to the REA chairman Dr. Simon Gicheru, they want to beat the end of April deadline of supplying schools with elecricity as outlined by National Government.

"I don't want to let the president down. We will ensure all public primary schools in Kenya have electricity before the end of April," indicated Gicheru.
