A teacher at Motonyoni Primary School in Masaba South Sub-County is still in hiding five months after he defiled a minor at his shop at Suguta Trading Center.
The girl, aged 7 studying in standard three then had been sent by his guardian, also a teacher at the same school to purchase an item from the shop when she was waylaid and repeatedly defiled.
A torn underwear with blood stains was recovered from the shop by angry villagers who also wanted lynch the suspect.
The teacher is said to had attempted to dissuade the minor from reporting the incident by giving her Sh 1500 as an inducement.
The guardian to the child said the minor returned home sobbing and bleeding from the genitals and rushed her to hospital for treatment.
Kisii County Police Commander said police are still pursuing fresh leads that my lead to the suspect’s arrest.
“Our officers still pursuing new leads and we hope he would be soon be in custody,” said Ms Mudambah.A source said the suspect was last seen at Manga trading center in Borabu Sub-County.
