The traders woke up to a rude shock, after they found their structures demolished, and accused the county government for the demolitions.

The angry traders paralyzed normal operations by blocking some of the roads in the town, and complained over harassment from the county of government Kisii.

Speaking to journalists one of the traders lamented that they depend on their business to eke a living, and they now have no alternative after the demolition.

The businessmen said this has been happening since 2000, when the structures caught fire and were reduced to ashes, and they rebuilt them before another fire incident early this year, with the demolition coming as another big blow.

This comes after the lands county executive warned that no structures were allowed on the said piece of land.

Police however managed to control the angry traders, and things were back to normal.
