The Kisii-Kilgoris road route matatu operators have accused the traffic police officers who are deployed at the road of incompetence and corruption.

During an interview with one of the matatu operator, he said that despite the fact that the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) is putting measures in place to curb corruption cases, the police officers still demand cash from the operators.

He also noted that the private cars in which they pretend to inspect are just a way of defrauding some Sh100 from the driver as a bribe before they let him or her continue with the journey.

The matatu operators now have urged the NTSA to interfere and save the situation since the traffic police officers are getting worse by the day.
