Kisii University has broken its record in admitting first year students this academic year.
A record four thousand students have been admitted into the institution this academic year.
The students were selected by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS).
Some of the students admitted are self-sponsored.
However, these high numbers have been admitted despite hostel crisis that the university is facing.
The university’s Dean of Students, Mrs Gladys Osoro, welcomed the new batch of students who were accompanied by their parents and guardians during the first day of admission.
