Residents of Nyosia village, Bobaracho ward had a busy day on Wednesday, 19th after Kisii university held a farm open day in Nyosia farm.
The farm which is owned by the university, showcased its products and other agricultural projects that they do.
Villagers had a good time to interact with farm experts as they were advised on the best farming methods.
This open day is one of its kind as it was the farm's first exposition. Speaking to the audience, the vice chancellor Prof. John Akama, encouraged the farmers to use modern technology to embrace high yields. He added that the youths should rely on agricultural for self employed.
To mark the day, farm products were sold at a lower cost compared to the actual market price to encourage the farmers.
Drinks and refreshments were not left out as a way to lauch the open day which is scheduled to happen every year.
"At least I have learnt enough skills on how to handle my farm," Rose Moraa, a farmer said.
