Kisii University is set to start offering medicine and surgical courses at degree level, following a recent visit by medical specialists from India who toured the institution.

According to assistant dean of students Francis Monari, they are in the final touches, and will be through with the requirement s by June this year.

“We are proud that we have visitors from India who will help the institution in its bid to offer Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and surgery,” said Monari.

He added that the institution will partner with Kisii level 6 hospital, where students will be doing their practical.

He further added that the hospital has received four modern machines from Kisii County that will be helpful in treating array of diseases especially cancer.

He urged students and other Kisii residents to visit level 6 hospital, where they will be screened for cancer and heart diseases by visiting Indian medical specialists.

“I urge all the students to visit Kisii level 6 hospital for heart and cancer checkups from visiting Indian medical practitioners,” added Monari.

He was speaking at Nyayo hall during a church service that was animated by Rev. Lawrence Atambo.
