Kisii University has rolled an SMS number system where students can check their fee status through short messaging system (SMS).
According assistant Dean of Students Francis Monari the system is currently being tested and the students are encouraged to use this service and give their feedback on the performance on the performance to gouma@kisiiuniversity.ac.ke or phone number 0722897207.
He added that the system will accommodate any mobile network operator for instance Safaricom, Orange Yu and Airtel.
He further said that students should use the correct format when using the SMS platform. For instance the message should as follows; KSU ADMNO to 20750.
The new system comes in handy as one way to end long queues that have been witnessed at student finance office as students throng there to know their fee balance.
According to Monari, the move has been rolled out due to upsurge of students as the institution is growing steadily.
“The move was reached owing to increasing number of students and students will not be able to check fee balance even when not in session,” said Monari.
