Kisii Water Company has yet again come under immense criticism from area residents over persistent water spillage in suburbs of the town.
Yesterday, a section of house owners from various estates complained of unavailability of water in their respective homes and blamed the supplier of inconsistency.
“We have gone three days without water yet we have reported severally. The problem is using of pipes which burst often and they delay to replace them”, said Mr. Nicholas Omare, a house owner.
He said they were under pressure from tenants following the water crisis and this may cause mass exodus of tenants from their houses.
“We are facing a real challenge here. Our tenants are complaining of water shortages yet we pay monthly. This is quite unfair because the water company should have a strong disaster response unit”, he added.
They asked the Kisii county government to intervene in the matter before it escalates and urged it to take decisive action against the suppliers.
“We request the governor and his team to intervene and save us from this stalemate. It is hampering smooth stay in our houses and we may lose millions if our tenants leave”, said the double house owner in town.
They gave the Kisii water company an ultimatum of five days that expires on Sunday to solve the crisis or else face unspecified action.
End.
