Speaking on Tuesday in his office, acting managing director Perminas Osiemo said the move was necessitated by rampant cases of water spillage that had been reported in the past few days.

During the dry spell of January and February, many residents had to walk long distances in search of water since most homestead and households could not access water due to poor piping.

“We have embarked in a serious process of ensuring people in town access our services easily without problems they have been facing in the past. We are going to improve our piping system by repairing worn out pipes,” he said.

“Most of them have been accusing us of negligence but we always do our best. We sincerely regret for some instances where we were unable to help situation whenever they needed our services,” he added.

He asked area residents to remain calm as the process of rectifying the situation may take longer than expected though he gave a timeline of two weeks.

“I would like to urge them to give us a little time to complete the work. Most of them may go without water for days but I think in two weeks’ time, everything will be under control,” said the MD.
