A woman in Kisii is being trailed by police after she allegedly beat up and killed her husband in South Mugirango, Gucha South Sub-County on Wednesday night.
According to the Nation, the 56-year-old man was killed by the wife after a domestic fight.
According to witnesses, the couple has had long a history of conflicts with some turning out to be violent.
Maria Nyantasu, who is s sister-in-law of the late said that she was awoken by a call of distress by the man who made claims that his wife had beaten him.
"He told me his wife had accused him of breaking a chair which she had borrowed from a neighbour and had attacked him," Ms Nyantasu said as reported by the Nation.
"Oseko and his wife have been having a long-running history of fights and conflicts. The couple would mostly fight whenever he had taken alcohol," said Evans Omwebu, a neighbour.
"I rushed there to find out what the matter was and as soon as I arrived, I found the man writhing in pain and lying in a pool of blood," he added.
Mochengo area Chief Abel Onguti then reported the incident at Nyamarambe Police Station before the officers came to collect the body.
According to Nyamarambe police division commander (OCPD) Moses Kanyi, the suspect allegedly tied up her spouse and bludgeoned him with a blunt object until he died.
"The case is still under investigation. When we apprehend the suspect, she will lead us to accomplices if there were any involved," he revealed.
He said that a search for the suspect has already been launched and that police are positive about apprehending her.
"We are still looking for her and are sure we will have her in custody. It is only a matter of time before we catch up with her," he said.
The deceased’s body was later taken to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary.
