Speaking on Tuesday during their routine meeting, Kenyenya youth group chairperson Mr. James Omambia said the group has made tremendous growth out of the project and are about to achieve their ambition of buying a pick up.

He said the group is also intending to extend their business to other regions in the county in bid to increase the number of farmers interested in tea farming business.

“As a group, I must admit that the business has progressed and even changed our living standards to greater heights. We have been patient enough and I think this is the first step towards realizing of our dream of buying a transit pick up,” he said.

“We are not going to limit this business to this place alone and that is why we are thinking of expanding the business to other parts of the county. We want to reach as many tea farmers as possible,” he added.

According to him, the nursery bed is poised to give the group a profit of up to 1 million if they find ready market. They also urged fellow youths to be innovative and desist from depending on the government for employment.

“It is a very good business. Selling one seedling at 10 kshs and this will raise about a million. This is the way youths should go instead of waiting to be employed,” he said.
