Speaking at Kisii Cultural Centre, Nyaora on Tuesday said that the institution, which was launched early this year, in a bid to come up with healthy herbal solutions to diseases is lacking in numbers.

“We are facing serious challenges since the county government is not fully dedicated to accommodate students and teachers and provide them the required facilities," said Nyaora.

Most of the students at the institution are of an advanced age, making lectures to be conducted in Ekegusii language.

“We have also heard of young people ignoring the course claiming that it is not marketable in the job market,” said Nyaora.

Prof William Obiero Gisesa, a lecturer at the institution, urged the county government to fully recognise the course saying that is out to offer cure to some of the ailments which are incurable using modern medicine.

“We need to embrace this noble idea since it has come at the right time. Despite the challenges we are facing at the initial stages, we believe it will be fully accepted in society a thing than only be achieved if we youth on board,” said Gisesa.
