A section of youths from Kisii County is set to hold a mega rally that aims at bringing youths together to discuss social-economic problems faced by the younger generation.
The meeting that would be held on Sunday has been dubbed ‘Gusii Youth Declaration’ and is believed to be a response to the infamous unitary meeting that was spearheaded by Senator Chris Obure at Otamba.
Speaking to the reporter on the phone, the caucus Chairperson Mr Jeff Mosiria insisted that the meeting only aims at brings the youth’s together and denied involvement in any politics.
“Gusii youths have been neglected for a long and time has come to join our heads and find the best way forward. We have seen old guards coming together in the name of unity and we support them blindly. Time has come for us to speak out and address social–economic problems,” he said.
Morisia added: “We want to say no to those politicians misusing the youths. We must stand firm and protect our interests as youths. Our population is an endangered species because of complete neglect and discrimination by those in power."
He, however, confirmed inviting all Gusii leaders to the event which is scheduled to be held in Gusii stadium saying their presence would give an avenue for proper address to their grievances.
“The only unity which people should take serious is that of the youths. We are the people to drive change and we have summoned all leaders. As youths, we must guide the leadership like this hour of need,” he said.
