Their move comes as senior politicians traverse the country to mobilise their constituents to make use of the ongoing mass listing of voters in the country.

Led by Japheth Mayaka, the urged young people to turn out in large numbers as the first step of electing visionary and focused leaders in August.

"Young people should know that they have an obligation to promote good leadership. That can only be done on the ballot and that is why we are encouraging them to register," he said in a tour at Marani Sub county.

"We need to elect visionary leaders who can help us grow economically. This is the only time we can make that a reality. I am sure by the end of this exercise, we would have hit the target," he added.

According to Independent Boundaries and Electoral Commission, Kisii County is projected to produce 200,000 new voters in the exercise.
