Jacky Auma, a house help who allegedly murdered her 26-year-old employer and her three-month-old in Muhoroni, Kisumu County last week has will be charged soon.
Ms. Auma who is reportedly a Ugandan Citizen was arrested in Uganda on Sunday. She was arrested in Namayisi area, in the neighboring country.
Kisumu County Police Commander John Kamau said that they are in the process of applying for the extradition of the suspect from Uganda to Kenya, so that she can face charges of murdering 26-year-old Elizabeth Achieng and her three-month-old son.
“I am not sure how long the extradiction process will take because it has to go through the office of the Attorney General. But what I am sure with is the fact that eventually, the suspect will be brought to book in Kenya,” Mr. Kamau told a Hivisasa writer.
Reports indicate that Auma was arrested after Kenyan Police based at Port Victoria shared information with their Ugandan counterparts about the suspect who was on the run after allegedly committing the murder.
She allegedly committed the murder in Shauri Yako Estate in Muhoroni last Friday.
The late Achieng' worked as a community health officer at Kadenge Health Centre in Muhoroni. Her husband Evans Otieno who works in Nyando Sub-County was not at home at the time of the incident.
