Auko said that he has been receiving death threats since he was elected in the position.

He said the position is God given and he will not relinquish it adding that he is yet to report the matter to Police over the threats on his life.

“I am going to report the threat on my life, but I will not resign. I will not leave the position that God has given to me,” said Auko to a cheering crowd.

Speaking at Chemelil Stadium in Muhoroni Constituency on Monday where Governor Jack Ranguma was giving out two ambulances, Auko said he is not taking the matter lightly.

Auko said some of the threats indicate that projects in his Ombeyi Ward will not be done because he was elected Minority Leader.

He said the county should be united and such cheap threats discarded to help the county move in one direction.

Auko further noted that the politics of the diaspora and name calling should stop for Kisumu people to have development in the area.

Former Majority Leader Samuel Ong’ou on his side noted that Muhoroni Constituency is well endowed with numerous resources adding that the already existing investments in the constituency are enough to feed and employ the people of Muhoroni.
