Adul said the court had reinstated her pending a case she had filed at the Kisumu High Court challenging her impeachment. She accused the assembly members of ignoring court orders by locking her out of office.

“I had to get into office and discharge my duties. That is why I had to break the door and if they cannot obey court orders, then the doors must be broken for the clerk to gain entry,” she said.

However, the assembly MCAs led by their chief whip Isaiah Onyango restrained the speaker from breaking into the clerk’s office who was also suspended. Onyango told the embattled speaker to restrain from damaging the assembly assets.

“We do not want to incur losses. Ask for the keys to open the doors and stop the breakage,” said Onyango.

A verbal attack ensued between the speaker and the MCAs and she was restrained by her body guard.

The MCAs insist she will not be allowed to transact any business in the assembly until the court case is heard and determined.

Kisumu High Court Judge Esther Maina will on Wednesday this week rule on some of the preliminary objections raised by the advocates. The objections included amongst other things dismissing the case filed by Adul and transferring the case to an industrial court.
