[Photo|Anyang Nyong'o]Kisumu has been chosen as one of the host counties for this year's CECAFA matches.Governor Prof Anyang Nyong'o addressed a press conference flanked by CECAFA Secretary General Nicholas Musonye and FKF president Nick Mwendwa, where he welcomed the move, Saturday.Kisumu's Moi Stadium will hold the CECAFA semi final tournament to be played on the 15th and 16 December, as the games kick off in Kakamega's Bukhungu Stadium on Sunday December 3.Kakamega hosts opening ceremony. The games will also be played at the Machakos Stadium in Machakos county.He encouraged all football fans to come and cheer their favourite teams and also experience and enjoy the hospitality of Kisumu during the games.Nyong'o reiterated his plans to rehabilitate Moi stadium by removing Kachok dump site around it and also build a new stadium as one of his long term legacy projects in Kisumu.He vowed to revive Kisumu Hot Stars which will replace Palos FC in the Nationwide leagueProf Nyong'o was accompanied by the Tourism and Sports CeC Achie Alai and Urban Planning CeC Nerry Achar.
