It's not business as usual for resiidents of Kisumu town.
Bodaboda riders in the lakeside town have suspended ferrying passengers who do not have ID cards or voters cards.
Why? The riders are out to ensure residents in the city who have attained the voting age acquire the document to enable them vote during the August 8, general election.
On Monday a meeting involving all bodaboda riders in the town was convened and it was agreed that even bodaboda riders who do not have either ID cards or voters' cards be suspended from business.
Organisers of the meeting claimed there were many bodaboda riders in Kisumu who do not have the vital voting documents.
Kisumu is ODM party leader Raila Odinga's stronghold and he has over time enjoyed support there.
During the August polls, just like in 2007 and 2013, he is expected to garner votes more than any other presidential candidate.
