Booksellers in Nyanza have come out strongly to oppose Matiang'i's directive to have the government provide schools with books.Members of the Kisumu Chapter of the Book Sellers Association said that public schools owed them 800 million shillings and Matiang'i's directive would make it difficult for them to be paid.''The directive is unfair and we reject it. We want it rescinded now.'' Amollo Ondiga, a bookseller said.Matiang'i said that his move was aimed at doing away with criminals who were intentionally hiking the price of books.
