A Kisumu-based catholic priest was on Monday night attacked by unknown gang, beaten and seriously injured.

He died Tuesday morning after being rushed to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Referral Hospital.

Father Evans Juma, of Nyabondo parish, was reportedly attacked moments after he dropped a nun at Chiga. He was beaten and his car set ablaze.

Good Samaritans who stubled on him at a road in Kibosi informed police who rushed her to the hospital.

Police said they are investigating who might be behind the attack.
