With just 2 weeks before pope Francis visits Kenya, the catholics in Kisumu county have expressed their expectations from the man of God.
In an interview after a church sevive at St. Teresa's Kibuye church, majority of them said that they expect Francis to come with a message of hope. Others said that they are waiting to see the pope's simplicity and humility especially toward the poor.
"I have known Pope Francis to be a humble man. His visit to Kenya this month will surely give the poor people hope for a better life," said Alice Auma.
Auma further said that the head of the catholic church cannot be compared to other heads.
"We have seen pastors and bishops who move around in big cars not allowing people to greet them. The pope is a different man," she said.
"I ask the pope to come to Kisumu and other counties. His visit will be highly appreciated," said Stephen Ochieng, another faithful.
Kenya is the first country Pope Francis will visit during his November 25-30 voyage to the African continent before making his way to Uganda and the war-torn Central African Republic. In Kenya he is expected to visit Kangemi slums in Nairobi county.
