Mbita MP Millie Odhiambo says Jubilee administration stage managed chaos at Kisumu to portray opposition leader Raila Odinga in bad light.
Rowdy youths had earlier booed DP William Ruto when addressing a rally before stoning presidential motorcade after Uhuru Kenyatta’s speech.
But Ms Odhiambo claims that Jubilee leadership in the region paid youths to disrupt the rally for political gains.
“Opposition supporters were peaceful throughout and we even welcomed the Jubilee leadership in Mbita,” said Odhiambo, adding that the presidential journey in Nyanza was peaceful.
She added: “Jubilee leadership wanted to portray Raila Odinga in bad light given that this is his stronghold. They paid people to disrupt their own rally.”
In a quick succession, Kabarnet residents retaliated by heckling Odinga and subsequently forced him to cut short his speech on Wednesday.
Also, Odinga continued to meet hostility in Jubilee strongholds when he had his motorcade stoned in Thika and Githurai townships in Kiambu
