A number of churches in Kisumu county will hold a prayer rally for the National Super Alliance (Nasa) presidential candidate Raila Odinga ahead of the October 26 fresh presidential poll.
The prayer rally will be held on Saturday, October 7, at the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) in Kisumu's Milimani area.
According to the prayers schedule, the men of cloth will first pray for the Opposition leader in an enclosed place before the main rally that will be attended by locals.
Speaking to the Standard, Power of Jesus Around the World Ministries bishop Ogonyo Ngede noted that preparations for the prayers are on top gear.
"We have moved around and made adequate arrangements to host Raila and pray for him as he prepares to go to the ballot again," Ngede said.
The churches will also pray for peace in the country.
Raila is expected to face off President Uhuru Kenyatta in the repeat election.
