The County Government of Kisumu has announced its 10-year county spatial plan.
Through the departments of Land, Housing, Physical Planning and Urban Development, the plan intends to cover the entire county.
In a statement sent to newsrooms, the plan aims at guiding use of land, interpreting and integrating national, regional and sectoral policies; and proposes policies on which to anchor lower level plans.
According to the plan, the preparation proceeds will employ participatory approach principles, where communities, institutions, agencies, and all stakeholders will be consulted for their valuable contributions.
It will be multi-disciplinary and multi-sectional pursuant to the provision in the constitution of Kenya section 174 (c), the county government Act Section 102 (I); 105 (d) and 115.
The statement further says that any person who wishes to make comments or representations to write to the chief officer, department of lands, Housing, Physical Planning and Urban Development.
