The Kisumu County Assembly has approved nominated members to Governor Prof Anyang Nyong'o's cabinet.
He had appointed a total of 10 CeC appointees for approval by the assembly.
They include;
1. Education Department - John Obiero2. Business, Energy and Industry Department- Alice Moraa3. Public Works, Roads and Transport - Thomas Owiti4. Physical Planning, Lands, Housing and Urban Development - Nerry Achar
5. Agriculture, Livestock, Food, and Fisheries - Owuor Okuom6. Environment, Water, Irrigation and Natural Resources - Salmon Orimba7. Economic Planning and Development - Richard Ogendo8. Health and Sanitation docket - Dr Rosemary Obara9. Tourism, Culture, Arts, and Sports - Archie Alai10. Finance Department - Robert Ouko Onyango
On Wednesday, the Assembly under the leadership of Speaker Onyango Oloo unanimously approved the County Executive Committee members after the report was tabled by Majority Leader Kenneth Odhiambo.
The Committee on Appointment chaired by Oloo had concluded vetting of the nominees.
The Assembly's Majority Leader indicated the nominees scored as high as 83 per cent which was way above the 50 per cent threshold, including regional balance, minority representation, and the two-thirds gender rule.
Kondele MCA Joachim Oketch, however, raised concerns that the youth had not been represented in the approved.
