Kisumu County chief whip, Isaya Onyango, has raised concern over the rampant insecurity cases in the county.
Speaking at the county assembly precincts Onyango said that recently the county has lost two residents.
One of them is Dave Achieng a resident of Railways ward and PHD student at Bondo University.
"Achieng was killed near Uzima University off Kisumu road on Sunday night when he was driving to his house," said Onyango.
“Our people are being shot by people armed with guns, butchered with knives and other crude weapons,” notes Onyango.
Chief whip said that last month a Maseno University student was beaten and burnt to death at Migosi junction.
"Our security is in dire need and i feel we need to sit down and come up with the way forward," said Onyango.
He notes out that some security officers in the area have overstayed in one station hence relaxing.
He proposed that the government need to transfer some of them so as to break the monotony.
He said that recently Ahero MCA was shot and Kolwa East MCA was robbed and that their cases remain unresolved.
