Five officials of the suspended Kisumu County assembly public service board have been arrested by the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission over corruption claims. The five include former speaker Ann Adul, former clerk Nelco Sagwe, former minority leader Edwin Anayo, suspended majority leader Samuel Ong’ou and Margret Jobita, a member of the board. The commission acting deputy director in Western region, Edwin Waudo, said those wanted are eight officials but declined to mention their names. Speaking to journalists on Monday at his Kisumu office, Waudo said the exercise is still underway and would not like to divulge more until all the arrests have been made. He also confirmed that his officers who had gone to arrest one of the officials at his residence were pelted with stones and failed to make the arrest. Those arrested are being locked at Railways police station pending further directions as Waudo promised to give a comprehensive report on the arrest detailing the offence they have committed. The public service board had five members who have been arrested and the identity of the three other people to be arrested still remains a mystery.
