Kisumu County Assembly is set to table and debate the People’s Assembly being pushed by NASA on Tuesday.
The Assembly Speaker Onyango Oloo said they are prepared to table the motion and allow members to look at the motion critically.
Oloo said the MCAs will have ample time to ventilate over the matter by looking at its merits and demerits to the nation.
“Every MCA willing to debate the motion will be given enough time,” he assured.
Speaking to the press in Kisumu on Monday afternoon, Oloo said the motion will not be rushed but will ensure that each member is accorded time to debate.
He announced that the Majority Leader Kenneth Onyango will move the motion in the afternoon session.
Oloo said some MCAs are proposing for amendment of the motion before it is passed while others are of different opinion to pass the motion in its state.
He said such views will be accorded space before the Assembly during the debate.
If passed, Kisumu will join other counties in the region like Siaya, Homa Bay and Vihiga who have debated and passed the motion.
Elected leaders led by Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyong’o and Senator Fred Outa are expected to be present in the Kisumu Assembly during the debate.
