[Photo|the-star]Makueni County commissioner Alex Ole Nkoyo is the new police boss in Kisumu County.Kisumu's Mohammed Maalim replaces Ole Nkoyo, in the latest police reshuffle, by the National Police Service.A reshuffle letter from the office of Interior and Coordination Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho to regional commissioners also proposed several other reshuffles, affecting Mandera, Nyeri, Kwale, Kisii, Kilifi, Vihiga, and Marsabit counties.Maalim's exit from Kisumu County, came following protests by Governor Anyang' Nyong'o, after the unrests and killings experienced in various parts of the county, after August 8 general elections.Nyong'o called for removal of top county police bosses, saying they played part in alleged police murders and brutality meted on Kisumu residents.Maalim was transferred from Mombasa to Kisumu.In the letter dated September 8, Kibicho directed the officers to report to their new stations by September 15.
