Residents of Kisumu have asked the county government to shut down strip clubs in the city, some of which have enlisted the services of underage secondary school girls and college students. Addressing residents in Kisumu town yesterday, TNA activist James Kirunda said the government and police should carry out investigations into these revelations adding that they will storm into Governor Jack Ranguma’s office if nothing is done. “It is unfortunate that our young girls are turning into strippers. We will stage serious demonstrations to compel the governor and his office to address this issue,” he said. The residents said the clubs are full almost every day of the week, especially Fridays and Saturdays with reports indicating that some of the strippers are ferried from as far as Uganda, Mombasa and Nairobi to entertain revellers.
