Ahero Ward MCA Maurice Aloo has asked Kisumu County Government to employ more engineers to enhance service delivery.
Aloo says that former Kisumu County roads executive Engineer Vincent Kediri has said that the county does not have enough engineers.
"Without enough engineers the county may not be in a position to serve people effectively. In the previous financial year the infrastracture projects were either over quoted or underquoted," said Aloo.
"Other counties have embraced engineers from the national government under Ministry of Public works,” notes Aloo.
Speaking on Wednesday at Kisumu County Assembly premises the MCA said a lot of projects are awarded without following the proper procurement systems.
He said that the procurement should be devolved to sub-county to enhance service delivery to the residents.
"How do we blame the County Executive if accessing fuel for transport takes two weeks because of procurement procedures," said Aloo.
