Kisumu County women MCAs have urged the county government to consider women and youths while employing.
Lead by nominated MCA Farida Salim the leaders said the county government is yet to embrace women fully.
Salim said that most of the locals especially ladies needed to be fully empowered as most of them are vulnerable.
According to the MCA gender parity in the region needed to be curbed calling upon the feminine to be aggressive in seeking positions in various positions in the county government.
“We should help to promote a sense of self belonging to the locals,” said Salim.
Her counterpart, nominated MCA Caroline Ogot also supported Salim’s sentiments where she called on women to be aggressive and fight for various positions in the region.
Ogot noted that the county government is yet to empower women and youths in the region.
