[Photo/Ochieng Owili]The Managing Director of Toyota Kenya Arvinder Reel paid a courtesy call on the Kisumu Deputy Governor Dr. Ochieng Owili.The MD who was accompanied by Takeyuki Kowada - the Toyota shareholders representative in Kenya, gave a presentation on the services that different divisions of Toyota offer.Key among the issues discussed were: the possibility of getting into partnership with the county government in the areas of vehicle leasing, regular training of county drivers and a possibility of getting into service contract for the county fleet. Arvinder Reel also appraised the County team of Toyota Kenya CSR programme under the the Toyota Foundation, where mechanics are randomly picked and trained professionally by Toyota engineers. On his part, Owili assured the Toyota team that Kisumu County administration would be enthusiastic to follow through with the proposals tabled. He also said that the county and Toyota Foundation can work on structured format of ensuring that mechanics from the county benefit from the foundation training programme.Also present at the meeting were Toyota Kenya Branch Manager - Jackson Obuo, County Secretary - Dr. Olang'o Onudi, Chief of Staff - Patrick Ouya, Physical Planning and Urban Development CeC - Nerry Achar and Trade and Industry CeC - Alice Moraa.
