Kisumu County residents have challenged county officials to safeguard county funds diligently.

The furious residents through their county human rights activist Killen Omondi speaking to the members of county assembly at Bunge La Wanaichi called upon leaders to help safeguard public funds.

The human rights activist further called upon leaders to work in truth to see the initiated projects are properly managed.

To him leaders who were found embezzling the public funds needed to face the law as they never prioritized the capacity building process in human life.

“We need to safeguard the public resources by making sure they are properly managed and properly utilized.The local man needs to get improved services and therefore leaders should act as custodians of development and not being embezzlers,” noted Omondi.

Kisumu County young youths associations’ representative Charles Juma also criticized embezzlement of public assets stating that that was way that was un reputable and affected most the innocent locals out pick pocketing public funds.

Juma called upon the county government to come up with guidelines and disciplinary measures in seeing public assets are properly managed.
