[Photo|Anyang Nyong'o]Kisumu County has received medical equipment donations worth over Sh256 million from the Global Fund.Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS) Governor Dr Mohamud Mohammed disclosed this in Kisumu on Tuesday where he explained that the County will receive one of the highest level of funding so far under the programme.Dr Mohammed said the KRCS team was in Kisumu County once again to deliver medical equipment worth over Sh46million.Speaking while handing over the equipment to governor Anyang Nyong'o, the KRCS boss said 142 medical facilities across the county would also receive assorted equipment worth Sh15 million.He emphasised that this goes to explain that indeed KRCS was the main recipient of the Global Fund support for HIV/AIDS.“The equipment we have come to deliver includes examination tables, oxygen concentrators, delivery beds, stethoscopes, weighing scales, caesarian section kits among others,” he said."I am happy to receive these equipments which will go a long way is servicing the patients in the county," added Nyong'o.
