Kisumu County Government has planned a retreat for the county officials in Nairobi scheduled for Friday 23rd January 2015. The retreat that will take place at the Kenya School of Government will be attended by Governor Jack Ranguma, his deputy, all MCAs, county executive members and county chief officers. The meeting is meant to forge a working formula for the county that has been dogged by petty politics. The county secretary Humphrey Nakitare had dispatched the invitation letters to the group and they will depart via air on Friday. The meeting will end on Tuesday next week. West Seme ward representative Aggrey Ogosi said the meeting is very instrumental for a better Kisumu County. Ogosi said they will have the best opportunity to engage Governor Ranguma on some of the development expected in the county. “We want to be told why projects that were earmarked for implementation have not kicked off and where money allocated for these projects is,” he asked. Ogosi said the county is not being run well and there is need for leaders to sit down and chart the way forward. He noted that the retreat has come at a time when the assembly is also divided following the reinstatement of Speaker Ann Adul noting that it will give the best opportunity for the MCAs to meet and discuss.
