Nyalenda B representative James Were accused the Deputy Governor of using the Nominated women MCAs to undermine Ranguma and the elected county representatives.

“The Deputy Governor has been holding secret meetings with the women leaders in Kisumu hotels aimed at undermining the governor and the elected MCAs,” said Were.

“Odinga’s major aim is to gain popularity among the youth and women before the 2017 general elections and this is why our fellow women legislators are aligning themselves with her,” added the MCA.

Speaking to our reporter on Friday, the MCA said this move could derail the county’s development as both the county executive and assembly should work together to deliver to Kisumu residents.

“Each of the arms of the county government has a role and mandate to the people of Kisumu which we were elected to deliver,” added Were.

“This is why we have clear and defined roles and duties to Kisumu people and I feel that is very wrong for the Deputy Governor to engage in meetings that could derail the county’s development,” further noted the MCA.

Were cited that the Deputy Governor has been missing in all functions attended by Governor Ranguma and that this is a clear indication that the two county bosses are not working together.

The MCA asked Miss Odinga to work together with Governor Jack Ranguma to help deliver to Kisumu residents and to change the face of Kisumu.
