Kisumu County deputy governor Ruth Odinga appeared before Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party Disciplinary Committee over the persistent wrangles in the Assembly.
Speaking to Journalists at The Vic Hotel in Kisumu on Monday morning, Ruth Odinga said that she is positive that the wrangles in Kisumu will end.
She urged the Assembly and executive to work together to develop Kisumu county.
"I would like us to walk together not that the Assembly and Executive work separately or are parallel while carrying out their duties. The Assembly should play the oversight role over the Executive," said Odinga.
"I have had meetings on performance management with the Executive in Busia, and just last week we had a meeting with the MCAs in Eldoret over budget estimates. That is a positive way to mend the wrangles and work together," said Deputy governor.
Odinga said that attempt by the ODM Party to hold such a meeting is the second one adding that it was more of fact finding.
"This was just the continuous meeting after the Party Leader Raila Odinga came. The meeting is more of fact finding before we can make a lasting conclusion," said Odinga.
She added, “These meetings are still fact finding ones that's why they are bringing in the ODM Whip, the Governor and myself. and I am positive the wrangles in Kisumu will end."
Both the county Governor Jack Ranguma and his Deputy Ruth Odinga were summoned by the ODM Party leadership to attend the meeting to find a possible solutions to the wrangles warning that the Party will not condone any form of misconduct and impunity that put devolution at risk by any Party-sponsored leaders in all counties.
