Kisumu Deputy Governor Dr Ochieng Owili, has criticised an incident, where goons in the town, destroyed private property, including looting Tumaini supermarket, and KIWASCO water supply system, Friday last week, during NASA anti-IEBC protests.

"You have the right to picket. You have the right to demonstrate but you don't have the right to desecrate properties," said Owili.

Speaking when he joined worshipers at St Francis of Asisi, Riwo for a Sunday church service, Owili said investigations have beenn launched into the incident, and that those found guilty will face the full force of the law.

"As the people of the great County of Kisumu, we should not vandalize properties during the ongoing IEBC demonstrations. Some of these properties took us ages to build, more so during the grand coalition government," he said.

President Uhuru Kenyatta also faulted the incident, saying: You can go on with your demonstrations but do not destroy the property of Kenyans."
