Ranguma said the county has devolved several services in the agriculture, health and roads sectors to help the locals.

Speaking to the press in Kisumu on Monday, the Governor said the population in the county has grown and thus the need to expand the services like water provision.

He said the county has sunk several boreholes and even extended piped water to several homes for both domestic and commercial use.

“We have made major strides in terms of development. It is there for everyone to see,” he said.

He said through support from the European Investment Bank the county will launch a water project that will pump water from River Yala to Maseno area and other parts of Kisumu.

The governor said the county has also strived to make the roads better and that has improved access to markets and even health centres.

He announced that the devolution torch will be brought to Kisumu on October 28, to showcase the strides made by devolution in the county.

“This devolution torch has been going round the counties in the country and it is arriving in this county this week,” he said.
