Kisumu County first lady Dorothy Nyong’o on Wednesday urged parents to enroll their children in schools and allow them to exploit their talents to the fullest if they wanted them to become the next Hollywood movie stars.
The first lady observed that it was only through proper education that the young generation will find the best ways of developing their talents.
She urged the teachers to give chance to their pupils to exploit their talents to the maximum noting that there were people who had low regard for talents that are taken as careers, for instance, music and other arts.
She brought to the fore that talent with relevant education is what made her daughter Lupita Nyong’o to excel and even make it to Hollywood.
“Talent alone without proper education may limit your prowess in your field of liking, Lupita had to go to through school and pursue her Masters in Acting in the United States of America, this is what saw her rise to be that movie star that we are all proud of,” Mama Nyong’o stated.
She lauded teachers across the country for the commendable job they are doing in raising and educating the young generation.
The first lady made the remarks when she closed the five days Eastern Region Annual Delegates Conference that was convened at Nyamasaria Primary School where she was received by Eastern Region, Women Leader Mumbi Salimini.
The conference kicked off on April 8 and attracted headteachers from all the nine counties in the Eastern Region of Kenya.
Mama Nyong’o revealed that her father was a teacher by profession adding that teachers were the throttle points that were propelling the country on an upward thrust.
“It is, therefore, your duty to serve the country diligently since you are handling and also raising the future of the County in your hands,” stated Mama Nyong’o.The first lady graced the occasion on behalf of the Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o who is out of the Country.
