The County Government of Kisumu has embarked on a road expansion project within Kajulu in Kisumu East Sub County to improve on the road network.
An employee at the county Mr Erick Oricho, who is the Chief of Protocol said this financial year, many roads will be expanded and upgraded.
Oricho, who was once a local councillor in the area in the defunct local authorities, said the road network in the area has been in deplorable state noting Governor Jack Ranguma had already launched massive road expansion in the area.
He said locals will enjoy easy access road networks in the area and will have no difficulties accessing hospitals and other facilities in the region.
“The road network in the area will be better and locals will have easy access to the markets and be able to take their produce to the market in time,” he said.
Speaking to the press at the governor’s office in Kisumu on Friday, Oricho noted that there are some contractors who have failed to move to the site.
He urged Governor Ranguma to revoke some of the contracts and give to contractors who are ready to work.
Oricho said locals are in dire need of the roads and would not want to wait for contractors who had been assigned to expand the roads to commence duty.
He further announced that Governor Ranguma has mega plans for Kajulu development and urged the locals to give support to the county government.
